Made of fine black resin, the cap mimics the shape of a punching bag, while the body design recreates the boxing wraps worn by boxers to protect their hands. The cap features various decorative elements, including a famous exclamation by Ali, and a butterfly inspired by his typical fighting style: Fly like a butterfly, sting like a bee . The pointed cone echoes the latter concept and bears engraved four lines representing the ring ropes. The inscriptions on the tip of the ballpoint pen refer to Ali’s victory at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, and to the first world heavyweight championship, which he won in Miami in 1964. The hood ring features the details of his victory, namely that he won in the seventh round by technical knockout.
