Montblanc’s new Star Legacy Moonphase watch is available in only 1786 pieces and features a 42 mm pebble-shaped stainless steel case with rose gold-finished hands, Arabic numerals, and an eye-catching blue dial with a “glacier” pattern. The dial is decorated with a layered design inspired by the ice of the Mer de Glace, the main glacier of the Mont Blanc Massif. The center of the dial is made using a special mold that mimics the texture of this glacier and pays homage to the “blue hour,” during which a shade of deep blue is cast on the glacier at sunset, when the moon rises in the sky and the stars begin to shine. It was at this time of day that Jacques Balmat became the first man to reach the summit of Mont Blanc, at 6:23 p.m. on August 7, 1786. Functions include hours, minutes, central seconds with the Montblanc emblem on the counterweight, moon phase, and date.
