A clear, legible dial with the characteristic minute scale and small seconds at “6 o’clock”-in the late 1930s, IWC’s Reference 325 model established a new concept of classic design that has unceasingly characterized the history of the Portugieser family ever since. Today, this timeless, modern design returns to the collection with a new automatic model with a compact 40-millimeter diameter case. The Portugieser Automatic 40 is powered by the IWC-manufactured 82200 caliber. This robust, high-quality automatic movement features a Pellaton winding system with components made of virtually wear-resistant ceramic, enabling it to accumulate a 60-hour power reserve. This model features a stainless steel case, blue dial and rhodium-plated applied hands and hour markers, and is accompanied by a black alligator leather strap. Thanks to the brand new butterfly clasp, the watch is especially comfortable on the wrist.
